North American Super Youth League Champions

Following a slow start at the North American Finals in Bradenton FL, the United U18G came together to clinch a spot in the championship match on Tuesday, December 15.

Competing against a strong Midwest FC U18G team, United established a 2-0 lead by halftime with a breakaway goal being scored by Liz Keefer, who also scored the second goal with a just deserved shot from the PK (2-0).

Mid-way through the second half, a miscommunication in the back gave Midwest FC hope to level the game and United the fire not to allow a 2-1 lead to slip away. Moments later, a beautiful combination through midfield allowed Sedona Bisek time to find her target in Emily Yergin.  Yergin was able to turn the corner and connect a well played cross to Keefer.  Keefer completed her hat trick quite nicely (3-1)!

Midwest pushed back and produced a goal from a set piece with less than 15 minutes to play (3-2).  Without additional substitutes available, United went down to 10 players when outside back, Fisher went down after a hard tackle during a Midwest counter attack. Kailey Vance, Alyssa Megil, and Gracie Crater held firm on the back line and closed down Midwest FC's attacks as the match came to a close.

 Thank You!
