Concussion Policy

FCSC Concussion Policy

  •  All coaches working within the FCSC Competitive Youth teams will be required to complete the Center for Disease and Control Prevention’s Head’s Up program. The objective being to help coaches recognize, respond to, and minimize the risk of concussion or other serious brain injury. FCSC will maintain all coaching certificates of Completion.

  •  No athlete reporting or exhibiting any obvious signs of symptoms, or behaviors of a concussion will be allowed to return to play until they have been medically cleared by a physician.

  •  Base line testing will be available to any player within the FCSC membership in the 2020/2021 seasonal year.

US Youth Soccer - Concussion Education

In an effort to ensure the health and safety of our players, US Youth Soccer has teamed up with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's "Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports". US Youth Soccer has built a FREE online education course to create a basic understanding of concussions. Parents, players, administrators and coaches can take the course training for free.
